PRODUCTION BUILT AIRCRAFT

RCA is probably best known for building the highly acclaimed Van’s RV range of aircraft.
 

RCA has the most experience on RV’s in Africa and the company is the only professional build facility in South Africa, approved by Van’s Aircraft Incorporated, to manufacture and maintain the full range of Van’s RV two and four seat aircraft.

We hold SACAA approvals as a Part 148 Manufacturing Organisation as well as a Part 145 Maintenance Organization.

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION 1147

MAINTENANCE

RCA holds catagory A and C approvals for the full Vans RV range of aircraft as well as the Lancair IV-P and F1 rocket aircraft  under a SACAA approved AMO 1147.

 

A true one stop shop for your aircraft, RCA will not only build you your dream aircraft, but will also able to provide servicing, parts and maintenance support so that your investment remains in top condition for years.

SPRAY PAINTING & SHEET METAL

As well as servicing and maintenance we also hold a B license rating covering Spray Painting as well as non-structural composite and sheet metal repairs to both NTCA as well as certified aircraft. 

 

Our spray shop includes a state of the art spray booth allowing for a superior paint finish whilst conforming to environmental requirements. Our paint technicians have been  trained in the application of both Standox automotive paints as well as MIL SPEC aircraft paint systems used on certified aircraft. The have extensive experience on a wide range of aircraft and are capable of handling full paint strip and resprays of aircraft from RV's to Dash 8's.

RCA installs only the very best EFIS systems in our range of aircraft. We are approved Garmin and Dynon Avionics dealers and are able to supply and install the full range of products from these fine manufacturers in  your NTCA aircraft. Call us for pricing on the newest models. 

 

 

 

Garmin G3X Touch

 

Built from the ground up with a native touchscreen interface – but retaining all of the tried and true capabilities of the G3X – the new G3X Touch is the smartest, most advanced large-format flight display Garmin have ever designed (and priced) specifically for experimental/amateur-built aircraft.

The G3X Touch suite of displays offer incredible installation flexibility; use any combination, up to 3 of the large 10.6-inch and 7-inch high-resolution displays which are configurable for split-screen mode. Add the optional GTR 20 remote comm to tune frequencies with only a few touches and gain powerful features like 3D Audio that are typically only found in audio panels. Consider the GTX 23 ES remote transponder to free up even more valuable panel space for your displays, as well. Terrain/obstacles alerting, worldwide geo-referenced FliteCharts® and SafeTaxi® airport diagrams SiriusXM® weather, ADS-B “In” traffic and weather and angle of attack sensor can all be added easily. Built-in Connext-enabling hardware, such as ANT+™ and Bluetooth®, provide wireless integration with your iPad® or other compatible tablet device running Garmin Pilot™, flight plan transfer capability and remote control of accessories like the VIRB™ action camera right from the display. Plus, the affordable Garmin autopilot system integrates with the G3X Touch, complete with advanced features approaches and auto-trim, as well as flight director, indicated air speed hold and straight and level button when installed with an optional control panel.

 

 

 

 

Dynon SkyView

 

 SkyView glass panels offer redundant networks and systems, incredibly bright screens, design flexibility, and future upgradability unsurpassed by anything else flying.Dynon's pilot-engineers designed SkyView to have a clean and intuitive interface so pilots can focus on the flying, not the technology. With SkyView Touch™, Dynon created an interface designed to complement - not replace - the physical controls on SkyView. SkyView Touch™ adds the convenience of touch when you want it but keeps a full set of buttons and joystick knobs for precise control in turbulence. Capacitive multi-touch technology allows natural actions such as two finger pinch-to-zoom on the map. Unlike most touch-based avionics and tablets, SkyView Touch preserves SkyView’s sunlight-readable and glare-rejecting screen.

SkyView HDX is the new flagship SkyView system from Dynon. SkyView HDX features improved displays, beautiful design, unrivaled control ergonomics, and an upgraded touch interface. SkyView HDX displays are compatible with all existing SkyView components and feature identical mounting profiles and electrical connections. SkyView Classic, SkyView Touch, and SkyView HDX displays use the same modules and accessories. SkyView HDX displays can only connect to other SkyView HDX displays in an aircraft. 

Dynon also offers a COM Radio that will change the way you use an aircraft radio. By integrating with the SkyView navigation features, the SkyView COM Radio can tune frequencies by airport and station type - rather than by spinning in a number - at the touch of a button. You can also send frequencies to the standby directly from the SkyView map airport information pages. The SV-COM is designed to fit in even the smallest panels and match vertically or horizontally with your SkyView displays. The SV-COM features a remote Transceiver module and the panel mounted control panel is only 1.27” deep.

Intercom: The Dynon SV-INTERCOM-2S solves the problem of having to choose between an underfeatured intercom and an expensive audio panel. With ample inputs for EFIS systems, stereo music, and all the other technology in your panel, the SV-INTERCOM-2S has the features that your modern connected 2-place aircraft requires.

Transponders: An integrated Mode-S transponder saves panel space with control and annunciation appearing on the SkyView displays. The light weight transponder module can be mounted anywhere in the airplane that is convenient.

 

Add a pair of Dynon servos to your SkyView system to add a fully-featured autopilot.The SkyView Autopilot has selectable Simplified and Expert autopilot controls to suit every pilots flying needs. The new LEVEL button will immediately return the aircraft to straight and level flight and can be activated from the either SkyView’s menu or an external button.

For the IFR pilot, SkyView's Expert autopilot controls feature a Flight Director, VNAV, IAS Hold, mode sequencing, fully-coupled approaches, heading hold, altitude hold, control wheel steering and much more.

VFR pilots can cruise in comfort with new streamlined Simplified controls which activates the modes pilots use most with a single button press. Pilots can select: HSI+ALT for following navigation sources such as GPS flight plans, TRK+ALT for flying in the direction and at the altitude you choose or the 180 degree button for a quick turnaround.
